Albert “Buddy” Haglock, Jr., 72, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, peacefully at home.

Buddy was born January 21, 1951, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Albert and Ruth (Dawson) Haglock, Sr. He was a US Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Buddy retired from Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, a Division of Wheeling Hospital as a caregiver; a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 3.

Buddy was the pitcher for the Hoots B&D softball team and helped carry them to an undefeated season, with a record of 44-0.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Haglock of Wheeling, WV; brother-in-law John Schmidt of Wheeling, WV; father-in-law Edward Oakland of Moundsville, WV.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carol Jean (Oakland) Haglock; a sister Jackie Schmidt of Wheeling, WV; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

We are very sorry for your loss. My husband and I met Buddy at the gym and talked to him regularly. He was always friendly and upbeat, and will be missed. Sending prayers.

Buddy was a good man who served his country in time of war he was my dads cousin,he never spoke ill of anyone, respected people and treated everyone with kindness.

Carol so very sorry to hear of the passing of Buddy. Knew Buddy for years . Always treated me with respect. Buddy introduced me to you when I ran into you and him. I am so sorry for your loss. Saying prayers.
