Back in the late 90’s I’d made a call to Shoemaker Mine & somehow got Albie (working underground) in error. He stuck up a conversation as if he knew exactly who he was talking too. (he was a character needless to say). What a great guy – always willing to lend a helping hand & have a smile while doing so! I actually met Albie a few years later after transferring to Bailey Mine. I remember one night while working the midnight shift I saw someone coming from the mine cage, it was Albie with a bucket – he says to me (come here) I was hesitant because one could never be too certain with him.. lol – He’d found & caught a small owl underground then took the time to bring it above ground tucked inside a bucket & returned it to it’s freedom outside. What a caring guy!
Sending my sincere sympathy to his friends & family!
Wishing to extend our sincere condolences.
I was completely crushed when I heard of Alby’s passing today . I worked with Alby at the mine and enjoyed his company ,knowledge and quick wit . He was a joy to be around . I could tell stories all day about Alby so I know I will never forget him . I am so sorry for all those close to him because I know how much he must have meant to you. May God bless and be with you Alby . You will be missed
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends.
Stella and family… so sorry for your loss. I just found out about Alby’s passing. I’m sorry that I didn’t make it to visitation. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories give you comfort and peace. Love you guys. Sharon.
I was very sorry to read about Alby’s passing when I was reading the newspaper this evening. My first thought was to call my brother Bob to let him know since he was always fond of Alby, but Bob is also gone now. Perhaps they are meeting again and talking about the old times growing up and playing together in the Benwood neighborhood.
Prayers for the Kazemka family. So sorry for your loss. Albey will be missed. Another Benwood boy taken too soon. I feel fortunate to have been his friend growing up in Benwood.
So sorry for your loss John .. And sorry I didn’t make the service. Thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Alvey, such a wonderful person always had a smile and loved life. You will be truly missed ! Our hearts go out to his family , you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Kathy so sorry for your loss, I got to know Alby like everyone else in BENWOOD & know he always had something positive to say to everybody, I know he thought an awful lot of you & his face lit up anytime your name was mentioned. Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family not only at this time but always.
