Andrew Vincent Wanat, 27, formerly of McMechen, WV, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Statesville, NC.

He was born August 30, 1995 in Wheeling, WV, a son of Theresa (Wanat) Boyd. Andrew was a US Marine Veteran. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Andrew is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anthony and Dorothy Wanat and an aunt, Toni Lynn Frohnapfel.

In addition to his mom Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Courtney (Wood) Wanat; his son, Lincoln Wanat; three siblings, Wayne (Laurena) Wanat, Dawson Boyd and Shieann Boyd; grandparents, Donna and Dickie Boyd and a large extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Friday, June 16, from 5 pm until time of military honors at 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 114 Marshall Street.

Todd I am so so sorry to hear about Rue Bug . I’m in total shock . I was so proud of him and who he became. He will be truly missed. Love you Andrew 😢😢

So sorry for you guys loss. He was a great kid. He was like a little brother to me. When him and Tyler would hang out at the house.
