Younkins, Anna Marie Garvonic, 102, of Glen Dale, passed away on November 16, 2017, at home.

She was born in Glen Dale, WV on May 10, 1915, a daughter of the late Anton and Victoria (Barshot) Garvonic. Anna was an employee of U.S. Stamping and Fostoria Glass before the birth of her son, Edward.

She was a charter member of St. Jude Club and St. Jude Catholic Church in Glen Dale, WV. At the time of her passing, Anna was the eldest member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the oldest resident of the City of Glen Dale.

A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her son, Dr. Edward W. Younkins of Glen Dale, WV; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Younkins; her brothers, John Garvonic, Andrew Garvonic, Michael Garvonic, Frank Garvonic; her sisters, Mary Scander, Rosella Long, and Katherine Pucharich.

Visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV on Sunday, November 19, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a vigil service at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 20, 2017, at 10:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Raju Antony as Celebrant.

Entombment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 710 Jefferson Avenue, Glen Dale, WV 26038.

Ed, we were blessed to have Aunt Anna around and she will me missed. She was such a wonderful lady. Watching the tribute video brought back so many wonderful memories. She was one of the guiding lights in my life. Her presence touched a lot of lives.
