I was sad to hear of Art’s passing. Art made me laugh at choir practice and later when I was the Choir Director at McMechen Benwood United Methodist Church. The last time I saw Art was at the funeral of his best friend Bob Mull.

So very sad to learn that Butch has passed away, but what a long and wonderful life. I can only imagine the amazing reunion in that occurred in heaven a few days ago! Butch and Angie, together again, forever, as true love should be!

I have so many wonderful memories of the years Butch and I sat together in the choir loft at the McMechen Methodist Church. He was one of the finest and most decent men I ever knew and he was one of the best role models in my life as I was growing up. I was so very blessed to have known him for so many years. I am a better person because of his example and the world is a better place because he was in it. Rest in peace dear friend!

My most sincere condolences to Debbie and Butchie and the entire family. May you be comforted by many wonderful memories and of a life very well lived!

Doug Byard and Family

PS: as requested, a donation is being made to the Marshall County Animal Shelter in Butch’s memory.
