Barbara Ann Johnson, 87, of Wheeling, WV, under the loving and devoted care of her daughter, son and son-in-law, died peacefully at home Christmas Day, where she went to our Heavenly Father.

She was born July 31, 1934 at home in Wheeling, WV, the eldest of 9 children, to Francis Wiethe and Ruth (Bowers) Wiethe.

She worked as a housekeeper for Wheeling Jesuit University for many years, before retiring from there.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. Johnson; 4 brothers, Maximillian Wiethe, Philip Wiethe, Francis Wiethe and David Wiethe Sr; 3 sisters Sylvia Wiethe, Gloria Weisenborn and Mary Ruth Rotriga.

Surviving is her daughter Sharon Bourgo (Joe) of Wheeling; her son Darren Johnson of Wheeling; and 1 brother Joeseph Wiethe (Cindy) of Moundsville, WV, along with nieces and nephews.

Barb was a very caring, generous and giving woman. She loved listening to her religious albums and music and watching her religious shows on EWTN. She also loved spending time with her family and her Sunday morning breakfasts with friends and family at Sonny Boy Restaurant. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and feeding anyone that stopped by, and mingling with her St. Michael Parish Church family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00AM at St. Michael’s Church.

In lieu of memorial donations, please pray for all the souls in purgatory, all the people in nursing homes and all the people that are alone and lonely.
