Barbara Ann (McGrail) Nolte, 84, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Wheeling, WV.
Barbara was born in Wheeling on November 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Vincent McGrail and Anna Gaus McGrail. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Barbara retired from Bell-Atlantic after 36 years of service, following her retirement she worked part time for the Health Plan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Susie McGrail Bauer and a great-grandson, Knox Nolte.
Barbara is survived by her grade school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, James “Jim” Nolte and their four children, Jim (Tracy) Nolte of Wheeling, Tammy (Bruce) Denniston of Wheeling, Jodie (Carter) Clarke of Rochester, MN and Jill (Greg) Zimmer of North Richland Hills, TX. Her and Jim spent most of their time keeping up with their ten grandchildren, Collin, Courtney, Braxton (Jourdan), Connor (Brandy), Delaney, Cece, Shae, Nicolette, Trey and Zack. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Jack McGrail and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Family and friends will be received Friday, March 10, 2023 from 2-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St., with a vigil service at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, March 11, at 10:30 am at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
