Dear Ron, Rick, Danny, and families , We are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Growing up on Indiana Street and with Mrs. Hickman (and all of you) as a neighbor was pure joy! She was an amazing lady – with the kindest heart. She will be greatly missed. We are out of town and sadly missed her services. I am very blessed to have had her in my life. Sending you all our deepest sympathy – much love.

I want to personally thank everyone for the condolences. They mean the world to me as you all knew how special my mother was.
To dedicate her life to her 3 boys and God after losing my Dad and 2 brothers just shows how amazing she was
If only the world had more people like my mother the world would be so much better.
Again thank you all so very much. It made these past few days a little easier to deal with.
May God Bless You All.

The Hickman family was a legend on the island. Mrs. Hickman raised 3 great sons. She was the nicest neighbor you could ask for. She will be missed. Dementia is hard to watch your loved one deal with. But she kept her smile and her love for the Lord. May she rest in eternity. And may her family find peace in the days ahead.

My prayers and sympathy to Betty’s family as you mourn your loss of a very loving and committed woman. When I taught at Blessed Trinity School, she was one of the mothers who was always there to help in any way.
Later when she worked at the Chancery with Sr. Mary Byron, I saw her often. She was always professional and compassionate to all who came to the office.
She is now enjoying her family in all the fullness of God’s love. May she enjoy the blessings of our God whom she loved and served so well.

Ronnie, Rick, and Danny,

Your mom will always be remembered as an icon of the Wheeling Island community. As we were growing up, there wasn’t a person on the island who did not know and respect your mom!!! She was and will always be the best! My prayers are with you and your families.
