Betty Jean Hafer, 87, of McMechen, WV died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
She was born May 19, 1929, in Littleton, WV, a daughter of the late Alfred and Jennie Lea Villers Crow.
Jean was retired from Marshall County Schools with 23 years of service, and was a member of the Benwood McMechen Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Hafer in 2005.
Surviving are her daughters; Cathy Jean Neehouse and her husband Scott, of Vincent, OH, Susan Lea Mason and her husband Leeman, of Glendale, WV, 2 sisters; Mary Lee Baum and her husband Carl, of Moundsville, Donna Jane Buchanan and her husband Donald, of Glendale, seven grandchildren; Randy Mason, Jason Collinsworth, Amanda Ziegler, Lindsey Capizzi, Jennie Collinsworth, Emily Neehouse and Matthew Neehouse, five great grandchildren; Hannah Clegg, Ian Ziegler, Riley Mason, Abigail Capizzi and Alexander Capizzi. Also surviving are special nephews; Mike Thompson and his wife Pam, Jim and Joey Crow, Kevin Buchanan and his wife Becky, and a very dear friend, Kathy Martin.
There will be no visitation. Services were held at the convenience of the family.
