Bettye Ruth (Bartrug) Furline, 88, of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va.
Bettye was born November 28, 1927, in Moundsville, a daughter of the late Earl and Tena (Forester) Bartrug.  She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville, where she enjoyed singing in the choir; a member of the former Catholic Women’s Club, Moundsville; and a member of the Tuesday Music Group.  She also enjoyed sewing and quilting.
In addition to her parents, Bettye was preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Wise; and a great-grandson, Dustin.  She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Albert J. Furline; two daughters, Barbara A. (Charles) Rush and Pamela M. (Dave) Crow, both of Moundsville; two grandchildren, Heather Ruthers Howard of Moundsville and Michael J. (Onda) Furline of Grafton, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren, Rochelle, Katlin, Austin and Michael; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Wednesday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Rev. That Son Ngoc Nguyen as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, W.Va.

Barb, I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your Mother. I know how much you loved her and how well you took care of her. She was a dear Lady and I will miss seeing her at the Moundsville Tree Gala and After Hours. May God grant your heart peace during such a hard time in your life.
