I am just hearing of your passing and I am rejoicing in the fact that you are surely with GOD. You were one of the most kind people I knew. My parents always appreciated the Birthday cards sent to them with lottery tickets inside. Mom would always ask about you since we lived in NJ but my grandmother Pearl Edwards, dads mother lived there her whole life. We went often to visit for that was my dads mom James A. Cotten the last Tuskegee Airman in NJ he served 70 yrs military and you and he talked a lot about serving. He really admired you very much. My father is the longest serving African American to serve in history. We are so proud as a family. Dad and Mom passed 4 months apart in 2020, married 74 yrs. We took care of them in their home, but we are still grieving so much. I am the oldest of their 10 living children. A school and many things have been named after my dad. Thank you John for serving this Country, too many people take their freedom for granted. I know you are up in HEAVEN with all your friend and family, so I am rejoicing because no pain is in HEAVEN! WIll remember you forever, Charen Cotten
