Carolyn Lee Hill, beloved sister and dedicated teacher, passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born on April 30, 1953, in Glen Dale, WV, to the late Alfred L. and Thelma M. (Hartley) Hill.
During her career, Carolyn made a lasting impact on countless students through her unwavering commitment to education. She poured her heart and soul into teaching, shaping the lives of those she encountered over the years.
Carolyn cherished the bond she shared with her sister, Bernice Utter of St. Clairsville, OH, and her brother, Kenneth “Buddy” Hill of Moundsville, WV. She also leaves behind her nieces, Billie Lofland and Tracy Modra, and her nephew, B.J. Hill.
Carolyn will be reunited in eternal peace with her parents, as well as her niece, Lee Ann Utter, and sister-in-law, Janet Hill.
To honor Carolyn’s memory, a visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, starting at 11:00 am, until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, located at 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV. Following the service, Carolyn will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mitch Johnston of McMechen Church of God.
Known for her reserved nature, Carolyn was a very private person. However, she had a unique ability to endear herself to everyone she met. Her kind spirit and warm demeanor left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Carolyn will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her dedication to education and the positive impact she made on countless lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
