Carolyn Orlofske, 76, of Wheeling, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at home surrounded by family.
She was born September 13, 1939, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Yanik) Hinkelman. Carolyn was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard C. Orlofske (1997); one sister, Shirley Sass; nephew, David Sass; cousin, Regina Yanik; and two close friends, Wayne Allen and Sharon O’Leary.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Wade of Wheeling; grandson, Jeffrey Stauffer of Wheeling and Sodonna Stauffer of Bellaire, Ohio; two great-grandsons, Xander and Caden Stauffer; brother-in-law, Fred Sass; three nephews, Freddy, Ricky and Billy Sass; three nieces Lori, Roxanne and Susie Sass; uncle, Andrew (Vera) Yanik; godson, Andy Allen; several great-nieces and nephews; and family friends, Betty, Michelle, Andy and Gigi Allen and William O’Leary.
Family and friends will be received Friday, May 6, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St. with Rosary services at 7:30 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 7, at 10 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Jerimiah McSweeny officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
