Charles A. Leitt, 86, of Glen Dale, WV, formerly of Fonda, NY, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home.
He was born January 12, 1930 in Amsterdam, NY, a son of the late John D. and Florence Engel Leitt.
Charles was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, was retired from Horne’s of Wheeling, and Ogden Publishers as a Sales Rep, was a life member of the Moundsville VFW Post 437, American Legion Post 0003, life member of the 1st Cavalry Division Association, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Leitt.
Surviving is his wife, Pamela J. Moore Leitt, a son; James C. Leitt of Maztalon, Mexico, 2 step-daughters; Kim K. Wraye of San Diego, CA and Pamela J. Kretser of Virginia Beach, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or services. Charles’s wishes were to be cremated and be inurned at Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga, NY.
Charles was a staunch supporter of animal rescue, with his involvement with transporting and coordinating efforts to protect animals in the area.

Thinking of you Pam and family in the loss of Chuck. I remember especially his kindness as a neighbor on McCready Ave. Praying you will be surrounded by many beautiful memories in the days ahead.
