Charles Paul Gebhardt, 86, of Valley Grove, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born January 17, 1937 in Wheeling, the son of the late Charles H. and Lillian (Garrity) Gebhardt.
Charles was retired from Blaw Knox and Cabelas, was a devoted husband and family man; an avid fisherman; member of American Legion Post #1; served on the Valley Grove Fire Dept; and was a veteran of the U S Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Shaun; grandson Drake; great-grandchild Avery.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years Sugie (Muldoon) Gebhardt; his children Scott, Gregg (Amanda), Kelley and Brandon (Dawn); a sister Nellene (Bill); a sister-in-law George Ann (Calvin); grandchildren Ashley (Heath), Allyson (Danny), Levi (Lauren), Jessica (Steve), Tiara, Axel (Maria), Sidney, Cassidy and Molly.; great-grandchildren Lillyan, Mason, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Jordon, Aliviah, Deklan, Emberly, Dawson and one on the way in April 2023; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
As per Charles wishes there will be no visitation, however a celebration of his life is being held at the family’s convenience.
