Cindy Humes, 67, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Cameron Nursing Home. She was born August 8, 1953 in Marshall County to the late Grover and Helen Humes. She is survived by he sister Robert Forrester and a niece, Leandra Bowman.
Cindy was a graduate of John Marshall High School and was employed for a time at a bakery in Moundsville. After moving to Wheeling, Cindy became a member of Christ United Methodist Church on Washington Ave. The church quickly became her second family.
Cindy will be remembered for many things, among those loving all things church related. She was a member of the New Covenant Unit of the United Methodist Women, participated in Bible studies and Sunday School and loved the covered dish dinners. Cindy was always ready to lend a hand. She volunteered in the church office, the bell choir, in the nursery and with Vacation Bible School (she loved children) and as an usher.
Cindy loved growing flowers and tomato plants, celebrating birthdays, visiting, writing long letters to her friends and giving big hugs. She was loved by her family and church family and will be missed.
Her friends and family express gratitude for the loving care she received from the staff at Cameron Nursing Home and from her friend and case worker, Susan Whalen.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6th at Christ United Methodist Church in Wheeling with the Rev. Jacob Steele officiating. Masks and social distancing will be observed.

My deepest condolences to you Bobbi and your family. I’m sorry I didn’t see this in time to make it to the service, but my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
A sweet and loving child of God who made a place in this world. Thank you Cindy for being our friend.
