Constance Pitts, known affectionately as “Honey Bee,” passed on September 12, 2023, in her hometown of Wheeling. She was born on February 16, 1954, to the late Herbert Sylvester Pitts and Easter Lee Pitts. At the time of her passing, Connie was 69 years old.

Connie worked for many years in medical records and as a nurse’s aid at Ohio Valley Medical Center, where she displayed a strong commitment to her profession. However, her true passion lay in singing alongside her beloved sister, Rosemary. Together, for fifty years, they created beautiful harmonies performing at schools, church services, funerals, and other events throughout the valley.

Connie is preceded in death by her father, Herbert Sylvester Pitts, her mother, Easter Lee Pitts, her brother Ronald J. Pitts, Esq. (Nellie), her brother Bishop Donald Pitts, and her sister Ruth Pitts McGriff. She leaves behind cherished family members: her sister Rosemary Pitts, her sister Barbara Wallace, her sister Betty Ann Pitts, her brother Paul Pitts (Paula), her brother Russell David Pitts (Christine), her brother John Pitts (Lomita), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will take place on Monday, September 18, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Wheeling Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, starting at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church, Martins Ferry, officiated by Bishop Eric Richardson. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling.

Connie will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering dedication to her work, and her beautiful voice. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

How can one describe the beautiful soul of Connie. The contagious smile and the laughter that could fill a room from this most genuine sincere woman. My heart is saddened with this news. I pray that the loving hands of God , who has lifted her up into his eternal paradise will also gently hold all the family in his tender care and comfort. I will surely miss her.
