David Jude Wiethe, 77, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
He was born on September 27, 1943 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Francis & Ruth (Bowers) Wiethe.
David was a Wheeling Firefighter for 32 years, member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 12, member of the Cave Club and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Wiethe; and his siblings, Sylvia Wiethe, Max Wiethe, Phil Wiethe, Teresa Weisenborn, Francis Wiethe and Mickey Rotriga.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Wiethe of Wheeling; son, David ( Stacey) Wiethe of Wheeling; siblings, Barb Johnson of Wheeling and Joe (Cindy) Wiethe of Moundsville, WV; four granddaughters, Kaleigh, Natalie, Ashley and Aubrey Wiethe; several nieces and nephews and his companion, Laela.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from noon-1:45pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2pm at the Cathedral of St. Joseph Church with Rev. Martin Smay serving as Celebrant.
