Donald Lee “Cat” Landmeyer, 69, formerly of Wheeling Island, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, in Cumberland Pointe Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH.

Donald was born October 10, 1951, in Wheeling, a son of Margaret “Leona” Wilkinson (Sonny) of Wheeling. He was a 1969 graduate of Wheeling High School; worked at Marx Toy Factory until it closed; and retired from Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Third Alarm Club, the Voo Doo Club and the former IDE Club. He loved playing, coaching and watching all sports, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Green Bay Packers fan.

In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by a son, Donald Landmeyer, Jr. of Wheeling; a brother, David Wilkinson (Lori) of Florida; a sister, Karen Wilkinson of Wheeling; a granddaughter, Sonia Landmeyer, his pride and joy of Wheeling; a step-grandson, Austin Schwanenberger of Pittsburgh, PA; step-sons, Carl and David Kondrach, both of Wheeling; nephews, Aaron Wilkinson (Liz) of Wheeling, Kyle Wilkinson of Florida and Eric Wilkinson (Jessica) of Florida; great-nephews, Troy, Dawson and Kal-El Wilkinson; great-nieces, Bela and Keiera Wilkinson; and Cat’s lifelong friend, Carla Kondrach of Wheeling.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Friday, May 21, 2021, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 22, 2021, with Rev. Craig Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

A true legend. Many childhood memories involve Big Cat. Some of the best times of my life revolve around him. He’ll be sorely missed. A tremendous loss. Thoughts to his family and friends.
