GLUSICH, Dorothy E. (Garner) Ferro, 89, of Benwood, W.Va. died Thursday, May 25, 2017, in Country Club Retirement Home in Bellaire, Ohio.
She was born January 4, 1928, in Benwood, a daughter of the late Joseph E. “Earl” Garner and Elizabeth M. (Matiasek) Rodgers. She was a graduate of her beloved Union High School Class of 1945. She was a member of the Former St. Ladislaus Church and the St. Ladislaus Social Club. She was a current member of St. James Catholic Church in McMechen, W.Va. She loved traveling with her late husband George and their friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and great grandsons. She loved casinos, buffets, bingo, the Pirates, the Steelers, WVU, Roberto Clemente, Jack Lambert, and “her” Bobby Huggins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Ferro in 1955, and her second husband, George Glusich in 2016, her step father, James Rodgers, her step mother, Beatrice Garner.
She is survived by one son, Michael T. (Roseann) Ferro of McMechen; two half-brothers, Larry Garner of Zanesville, Ohio, and Thomas E. (Billie) Garner of Glen Dale, W.Va.; three grandsons, Brett M. Ferro of McMechen, Christopher T. (Keri) Ferro of St. Albans, W.Va., and Adam Ferro of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three grandchildren, Braxton, Grant, and Abi; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Fran Sobray.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 1-8 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10 am at St. James Catholic Church in McMechen with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

So sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I remember her from when I was a little girl. My mother would take me there and she would cut my hair. She was a wonderful lady. Heaven truly has another angel.
