Bentz, Douglas William, 63, of Wheeling, died Friday January 6, 2017 at home.
He was born October 14, 1953 in Wheeling, WV., son of the late William & Jean Sengewalt Bentz.
Doug was a retired postmaster for Proctor, WV, a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, MT. Olivet and a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy & Dick Bentz.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Carolee K. Reynolds Bentz, two sons, Nathan R. Bentz & Adam T. Bentz both of Wheeling, seven brothers and sisters, Phillip (Mary Jane) Bentz, Susie (Millet) Fadoul, Peggy (Dave) Bergeron, Betty (Richard) Oberlander, Sheri (Eric) Fitzpatrick, Jeffrey Bentz, & Michael Bentz, several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
At Doug’s request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home for he chose to have his body donated with the WV Gift Registry.
Arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling.

I graduated from Corpus Christi and Central with Doug. He was such a nice guy, and very thoughtful and considerate. RIP Doug.
