GAMBLE, Evelyn Jean (Francis), 96, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born December 6, 1919 in Marshall County, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Mabel (Crow) Francis.
Evelyn was a retired clerk for the WV Department of Transportation, member of Waymans Ridge United Methodist Church and was retired from the Moundsville Livestock Association where she served as their Weigh Master. Evelyn played piano for many of the local churches, including Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, where she was a member for many years.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Gamble; Brother, Wayne Francis and sister, Katherine Hudkins.
Surviving are her son, Gary R. (Loretta) Gamble of Pleasant Valley, WV; grandson, Keith (Sandra “Dee Dee”) Gamble of Pleasant Valley; great grandson, Zachary Gamble; step grandchildren, J.D., Ashley and Heidi; six step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, from 2-4 and 6-8pm where funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11am with Rev. Ray Klages officiating.
Interment will follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Park & Mausoleum, Sherrard.
