Fred Elton Wildern Jr. “Fast Freddie”, 68, Wheeling, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born May 11, 1948 in Wheeling, a son of the late Fred Sr. and Elizabeth (Albert) Wildern. He was a member of St. Michael Parish Church, Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter in-law, Connie Wildern.
Fred is survived by nine children, Fred Wildern III of Wheeling, Mellissa Wildern of Benwood, Stephanie (Keith) Loew of Valley Grove, Shawn (Kayla) Wildern of Oceanside, CA, Kevin Wildern of Stone Church, Shane Wildern of Wheeling, Amanda Wildern of Kentucky, Patrick Wildern of Moundsville, Austin Wildern of Moundsville, three siblings, Mary Ann (Marion) Siebieda of Wheeling, Cecilia (Robert) Duvall, Emma (Glenn) Giffin, twenty one grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, lifelong friend Paula Otto, and lifelong friend and caretaker Wendy.
He was the proud owner of Fast Freddie`s bar on Wheeling Island, and of Wildern Construction.
Friends will be received from 4-8 pm, Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling.
A service will follow the viewing at 8 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove, with Mike Palmer officiating.
The family will be accepting flowers, but memorial contributions can be made to the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center, 125 18th Street, Wheeling, WV, 26003.
