SFORZA, Sr. Fred Michael, 90,of McMechen, WV died Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Liza’s Place. He was born November 13, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA. a son of the late Anthony and Susan Palmeri Sforza. He was a retired employee of Warwood Armature, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and Korea and a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen. He was also a member of the DAV and Blake Bros. American Legion Post 46 Benwood. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by five brothers, John, Frank, Tony, Louis and Rudolph Sforza. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Angelina E. (Isopo) Sforza; a son, Fred M. (Carolyn) Sforza, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; a grandson, Michael (Heidi) Sforza of McMechen; a granddaughter, Angelina Sforza of Chesapeake; and two great grandchildren, Robert and Emmitt Sforza; a brother, Thomas Sforza of Berlington, NJ; four sisters, Marie Longo, Theresa DeLeo, Josephine Coia, and Gloria Foster all of Philadelphia, PA Friends received 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home 214 Marshall St., McMechen. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Wed. Nov. 4, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with the Rev. Raju Antony as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Uncle Fred ; I shall always remember you,times I stayed with you and Aunt Angie.The both of you have always been very special to me and I dearly loved both of you.I have so many fond memories,laughter,fun times being in your life and will always cherish those for years to come.I remember our last conversation we had on the phone you telling me you were 90 years old and how happy you were.Your words of encouragement and cheer always brought a smile to my face and heart.I will always remember you and your spirit of life shall always be held dear to me.
