TYLER, Freddy W., 68, of Glen Dale, W.Va., died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 27, 1947, in Huntsville, Alabama, a son of the Fred Russell and Jimmie Dorris (Bragg) Tyler. He was a member of the Middle Grave Creek Church of God in Moundsville, W.Va. He was retired from the Ormet Corp., but also worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Beech Bottom Plant, and the Marshall County Courthouse Security. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Moundsville VFW Post 437.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Lee Tyler.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Dimitro) Tyler, who would have celebrated his 50th Wedding Anniversary next week; one son, Christopher Tyler of Wheeling, W.Va; one aunt, Ida Kate York of Jasper, Tenn.; and his yorkie, Itsy Bitsy.

Freddy enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He was an avid football fan of both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Cleveland Browns.

Freddy loved his family and wanted to share this poem as his last request: While the world looks upon me as I struggle along, and they say I have nothing but they are so wrong, in my heart I’m rejoicing how much I wish they could see, thank you Lord for your blessings on me.

Friends will be received on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2-5 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, W.Va. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 am at the Middle Grave Creek Church of God in Moundsville with Pastor David Sessems officiating.  Interment will be private.

The Bible says “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” I believe that God will shed his blessings on you at this time. These are times when our Faith is tested the most, and yet it is Faith that will see us through the sorrow.
