Broski, George, 93 of McMechen, WV, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at home .
He was born February 22, 1922 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late John and Stella Zelowicz Broski.
He was a retired mechanic from Commercial Lovelace Trucking and Wheeling Spring Co., a member of St. James Catholic Church, and was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S Army during WWII.
George graduated from Wheeling High School and loved to do wood working, paintings and murals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Emma G. Bickerton Broski, one sister, Dorothy Knight, one brother, Melvin Broski. Surviving are his three children, Georgiann (Ang) Polsinelli, Carolyn (Russ) Neff, Paul (Judi) Broski.
He has six grandchildren, Joseph (Chrissy) Polsinelli, Justin Polsinelli, Tony (Jolynn) Neff, Jennifer Neff, Bryan (Susie) Broski, and Paul J. Broski, nine great-grandchildren, Riley and Kenzie Polsinelli, Francesca and Grace Neff, Benjamin Henderson, Gabrielle, Chloe and Blake Broski and Jocelyn Broski, one brother, Norman (Ruth) Broski, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015.
Interment with Military Honors in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
