George J. Glusich, 84, of Benwood, W.Va., passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, in Wheeling Hospital.
George was born August 17, 1931, in Benwood, a son of the late John and Frances (Resator) Glusich. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.; a Catholic by faith; and a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. He also enjoyed bus trips and going to the Wheeling Island Casino for the buffet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and John; and five sisters, Anne Callendar, Mary Gordon, Barbara Mroska, Rose Palicka and Katie Redd.
George is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy; a son, Mike (Roseann) Ferro; a sister, Violet Vidovich; a brother, Thomas; three grandsons, Brett, Christopher (Keri) and Adam Ferro; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Grant and Abi; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-8 pm, Thursday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where a vigil service will be held at 7 pm.
Funeral services will then be held at 10 am, Friday, February 26, 2016, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bekeh Utietiang officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
