Shirley
You know that many of us old East Wheeling kids remember how kind your parents were. The “sitting on the porch” scenario was so representative of how I thought of your family. It touched my heart to see your dad’s picture. Thank you for sharing him with us. May you close your eyes tonight and think of happy memories.
Dale – so sorry for your family’s loss.
Shirley, So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. So many memories of childhood from North Street Church with our families. Wish I would have been able to come and talk with you yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I’m so glad my brother Jimmy Paige and I got to pay our final respects yesterday to a wonderful man. Mr. Ron was an icon to the East Wheeling neighborhood for as long as I can remember. Mr. Ron always greeted people with a smile and lots of conversation. Mr. Ron never forgot a name or a face. I was Mr. Tons neighbor when my middle son was just four years old. My son is now 21 and in college. I saw Mr. Ron not long ago. He asked me how Gee was. I said to him you don’t forget anything do you? He just smiled and said I try not to. I’m going to miss seeing Mr. Ron sitting on his porch when the weather breaks. Shirley it was so nice finally meeting you yesterday. He talked of his children often. I see where you get your kindness from. The world would be a much better place if we had more people like Mr. Ron. He was so kind and knew no color barriers. Mr. Ron RIH with your wife now. East Wheeling won’t quite be the same without your presence. You will be truly missed!!!
