Gerald Lee Patrick, 80, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.

Jerry was born March 28, 1942, in Glen Dale, WV, a son of the late Joseph G. and Marie (Schrack) Patrick. He was a 1961 graduate of Moundsville High School; a U.S. Air Force veteran; and a retired electrician for AEP-Kammer Mitchell Plant. He was a former member of the Washington Lands Lions Club and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. He also enjoyed electrical work; having breakfast with friends; and was considered by his family to be a “professional snacker”. Above all, he was a great husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister & brother-in-law, Brenda and Roger Wade; brothers-in-law, Elwood and Wendell Jones; and sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ivette Elizabeth (Jones) Patrick; four sons, Brent (Jennifer) Patrick, Kevin (Gara) Patrick, Chad (Erin) Patrick and Stephen (Patty) Patrick; sisters, Ginger (Don) Hess, Mary Jo Sloan, Karen (Pete) Peterson; brother, Dan (Carla) Patrick; sisters-in-law, Thelma (Denis) Minor, Ella (Dave) Schoenian and Patty Jones; 9 grandchildren, Jared (Megan), Logan (Amy), Kyle (Autumn), Jaise, Abby, Ryan, Leigha, Aidan and Isaac; great-grandson, Maddox; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Wednesday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where a memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2022, with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.

Jerry was a wonderful brother. He was quiet and soft-spoken but when he had something to say, it was worth listening to. I loved him and will miss him dearly but know he is resting peacefully in heaven until we meet again.
