Grace LaRue Bruce, 93, of Wheeling, W.Va., formerly of Natrona Heights, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
LaRue was born April 2, 1923, in Vandergrift, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Effie Spencer. She was a retired mail carrier for the U.S.P.S and a member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church. She was also an avid archer, having traveled the world displaying her skills. She was a member of the Chieftain Archery Club of Leechburg, New Kensington, Pa., and judged the U.S. Olympic Archery Team.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce; and was the last living sibling of six.
LaRue is survived by her adopted family, Mary Anne (Gary) Carter, Sharon (Chip) Boone and Althea Kristufek. She was well loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
In accordance with LaRue’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, 20 Homestead Avenue, Wheeling, WV.
