Grat Dillon Griffith, 19, of Benwood, WV, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at UPMC, Pittsburgh, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on July 9, 2003 in Wheeling, WV, son of David Griffith Jr. of Dallas, WV and Connie (Smith) Griffith of Benwood.
Grat was a 2021 graduate of John Marshall High School, was in manager training for 84 Lumber in Bridgeport, he loved his dirt bikes, four wheelers, hunting and fishing, member of the Sons of American Legion, Squadron #46 and was an avid Houston Texans fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fran “Granny” Smith and uncle Michael Smith, Jr.
In addition to his parents, Grat was survived by 5 siblings, Kody (Andrea) Griffith of Wheeling, Kayla (Keith) Kidd of Proctor, WV, Dakota Griffith of Wheeling, Brittany (Jimmy) Coulter of Dallas, WV and Haley Griffith of Benwood; grandparents, Michael Smith of McMechen, David Griffith Sr. West Alexander and Jennifer Filby of Dallas, WV; several nieces and nephews, Bryden Griffith, Brynlee Griffith, Bailey Griffith, Waylon Kidd, Kameron Kidd, Kyndra Kidd, Weslynn Kidd, Dezmond Gummer and Delvon Bell; several aunts, uncles and cousins; girlfriend, Emily Bailey and his cats, Cardi and Remi.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from noon until 8pm and again on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 10am until time of services at noon at Altmeyer Funeral Home. Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen WV.
