He was born April 13, 1954, in Glen Dale, WV, the son of the late Frederick and Betty (Black) Fromhart. He was a former long-time employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation at Benwood, Steubenville, and Yorkville where he was a skilled electrician In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his dog, Holly. Joyce, Josh & Jacob I am VERY Sorry to hear about Shad. It’s odd that I was just thinking of reaching out to him the other day, having been through my own battle with bladder cancer over the last 2 years since I saw you in Orlando. I had no idea he was sick. After being very close through high school, I moved to Florida, and was not happy. He even came down here & lived with us at my folks’ home for a time. We were like interchangeable sons at each others’ houses. I am very sad & praying for you all during this difficult time. Wish I could be there for my best friend in person. Such wonderful times we had at camp…
I also remember when you all came down when the boys were still small and we went out in our ski boat. Joyce, I didn’t realize that you were Judy’s close friend until after I saw you in Orlando (sorry ’bout that, DUH!) What a fine family you both made together!! You just don’t find men with the quiet, caring, calm demeanor that Shad approached everything with – even when he had no idea what he was gonna do. You should be quite proud that you are the best thing to happen to him and I know you did your very best to take care of him through this brutal journey. I would not have made it without my Mary’s total support. Be thankful that this was not an ongoing, deteriorating ordeal – he is in The Best Place. God has this and will guide you all as well. You know that. It’s hard for us to understand as humans. We send you long-distance love, and,
Godspeed, Shadrack!
