Hani Abde Shami, 72 of Wheeling, WV passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2022.
Hani immigrated to the United States in 1976 and made Wheeling his home in 1979. For over 30 years, he owned and operated Maces on Fulton Street, a local favorite.
Hani is preceded in death by his father, mother, and oldest brother. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Denise, daughters Nadia (Zack) Iwanyshyn and Teresa (Robert) Neely, granddaughters Madeline and Gianna Iwanyshyn, three brothers and three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Altmeyer Funeral Home 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice in Hani’s name.
Knew Hani for many years had many a great conversations and shared a few beers ocassionally with him at Maces years ago,he was a good man,smart and accomplished quit a bit in his life,he will be missed by many I’m sure.

Hani was a friend and coworker with whom I enjoyed each and every time we were able to get together. He was an accomplished restauranture. We shared many ideas and “battle stories” about the industry. Peace to Denise and the family.
