Helen B. Shutler, 96, of St. Joseph Settlement, Proctor, WV, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Shutler was born October 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Nicholas G. and Mary E. Nolte Miller.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Settlement and a member of the St. Joseph Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Shutler; 2 brothers, Julian Miller and Hilary G. Miller; a sister, Wilma Klug; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Anthony Mysliwiec.
She is survived by a son, James H. (Carolyn) Shutler of Wheeling, WV; 2 daughters, Margaret A. Mysliwiec of St. Joseph Settlement and Mary Jo (Wayne) Goddard of New Martinsville, WV; a sister, Mary L. (Albert) Hohman of St. Joseph Settlement; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shutler loved her family, gardening, quilting and helping others.
Friends will be received Friday, June 1, 2018, from 3-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville where a Rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Josephs Settlement, WV with Rev. Symeon Galazaka as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
