Helen C. Allen, 91, of Wheeling, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born March 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Nunzio C. and Christina M. (D’Aura) Tacozza. Helen was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Christian Mothers.

In addition to her parents Helen is preceded in death by her brothers, James, Anthony J. and Daniel J Tacozza; sister, Marianna Tacozza; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Tacozza and Elise Tacozza; brother-in-law, John Stinoski; daughter-in-law, Jill Allen and grandson, Ted “Tuna” Allen.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, of 67 years, Robert W. Allen; sons, Ted N. Allen of Wheeling, Robert J. Allen of Pittsburgh, PA, and Jeffrey W. (Jill) Allen of Mt. Pleasant, OH; daughters, Katherine C. Porter of Adena, OH and Roberta L. (Donald) Newman of St. Peters, MO; sister, Violet T. Stinoski of Follansbee, WV; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Friday, July 1, 2016, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 2, at 10 am, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Peterson officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mourning the loss of a dear loved one, is always difficult for family members. Sorry for your loss. The best friend that a bereaved family can have is our heavenly Father, God. He invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in this time of grief. (Psalms 55:22).
