Herman R. Muldrew, 87, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

He was born June 9, 1930, a son of the late Charles and Alma (McDonald) Muldrew. Herman was a US National Guard Veteran and a member of Sherrard United Methodist Church. He was a member of American Legion Post #3 and a volunteer firefighter with Sherrard Volunteer Fire Department for over 43 years.  In 1961 Herman went into business for himself and owned an automobile mechanic, body work and paint facility, Muldrew Service Company. He also had a deep passion for maintaining and driving his own stock cars for 18 years, landing in the “Dirt Track Racing – Hall of Fame” in 2004.

Above everything, the most important thing to Herman was his family, he never went a day without telling them he loved him.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and William Muldrew and one sister, Lenore Weekly.

Herman is survived by his loving wife , of 63 years, Patricia (Berletch) Muldrew; two children, Terry (Marti) Muldrew and Tammy (Rob) Clark both of Glen Dale; one sister, Dorothy Hoffmaster of South Carolina; two grandsons, Ryan (Dee) Muldrew and Michael (Vanessa) Muldrew; three step-granddaughters, Danielle Dabrawsky, Erin Hardy and Jennifer Debrawsky; five great-grandchildren, Jacson, Tyler, Hailey, Nathan and Kaitlyn Muldrew, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, October 3, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, and Wednesday, October 4 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moudnsville, with Rev. Alan Flaitz officiating. Interment will be held at Halcyon Hills Memorial Garden.
