Howard Allan Kestner, 81, of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his residence.
He was born February 3, 1937, in Glen Dale, WV, the son of the late Charles and Wilma (Gray) Kestner.
Howard was a retired Boiler Operator for Triangle Conduit, US Army Veteran, member of the McMechen Church of Christ and a former employee of the Fostoria Plant. He loved woodworking, building homes, hunting, fishing, singing and raising wild game birds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Kestner; and two siblings, Betty Whitlatch, and Don Kestner.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Shirley (Hill) Kestner of Moundsville; three children, Terri (Rich) King of Moundsville, Kathie (Ron) Allen of Moundsville and Jeff Kestner of FL; sister, Margie (Mike) Fallova of Boggs Run, WV; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jimmy) Kittle-Groves, James Allen and Ashley (Chris Bowie) McCulley all of Moundsville; six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jarrett, Cassidy, James, Brynn and Brady and several nieces and nephews.
Friends received from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, Lutes and Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 11 am.
Interment will follow at Woodhill Cemetery, Moundsville.
