Irene Gil Hoskins, 86, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on June 8, 1935 in Barcelona, Spain, daughter of the late Salvador and Irene (Dumas) Gil.
Irene was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Glen Dale, member of the former Sun Valley Garden Club, member of the Ladies Red Hat Society and retired from Bernhart’s Men’s Clothing Store, where she was a seamstress. She loved sewing, nursing birds and breeding dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gary Hoskins of Glen Dale; daughter, Ester (Pat) Pline of Clifton, VA; son, A.J (Annette). Hoskins of Charleston, WV; three grandchildren, Elliot and Katie Pline and Audrey Hoskins; two brothers-in-law, Eddie Hoskins and Monica Ospina Bremer of Wheeling and Robert (Francis) Hoskins of Easton, MD; god daughter, Michelle Weltz of Tampa Florida; god son Rob Hoskins of Middletown, NJ and special friend, Claudette Dicresce of McMechen.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, with a Rosary being held at 7:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11am at St. Judes Catholic Church, Glen Dale, with Rev. John Ledford officiating.
Interment will follow at a later date at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas Texas 75231.
