James Francis Midcap, 88, of Moundsville, passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Bishop Hodges Continuous Care. He was born in Avella, PA a son of the late, Brady and Lula (Yoho) Midcap. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. James was a member of Bowmans Ridge United Methodist Church. He retired from CONSOL in 1983 and was a member of the United Mine Workers. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to yard sales.
He is survived by his son, Tony (Roberta) Cofer of Moundsville; daughters, Retha Ann Midcap of Wheeling, Barbara (Ronald) Curfman of Moundsville, Carolyn (Rodney) Lash of Washington Lands, Marlene (Rick) South of Moundsville, Teresa (Tony) Helfer of Wheeling and Carrie Lohr of Moundsville; brother, Thomas Edward Midcap of Fish Creek; sisters, Clara Yoho of Proctor and Mary (Clarence) Siburt of Graysville and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy (Wood) Midcap; 2 brothers, Brady (Leroy) and Raymond Midcap and 2 sisters, Eula Grace Streight and Florence Moore.
Friends will be received Monday, May 16, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Altmeyer Funeral Home Lutes and Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave, Moundsville, where service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2016, with Reverend Harry Midcap officiating. Burial will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Garden, Sherrard. Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Services.

So sorry for your loss. Growing up as neighbors I spent a lot of time visiting, hanging-out, and of course watching the Midcap Girl Band with Jim watching over all of us. Very fond memories, and Barb marrying into the family to my Cousin Ronnie. Wish I could be there.
