Lucey, James “Jim” Owen, 61, of Wheeling, died Wednesday March 29, 2017 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1955 in Wheeling, the son of the late Jerry and Hazel Lucey Sr.
Jim was a cement finisher for Over/Under Concrete in Martins Ferry, a member of the Cave Club, IOLA Club, Elm Grove YMCA and an avid WVU and Steeler fan.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother Jerry Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Susan “Suzie” K. Williams Lucey, two brothers, Richard Lucey of Brideport, Ohio, and Michael Lucey (Jane) of Wheeling, two sisters, Peg Morris and Susan DeGarmo both of Wheeling, his mother-in-law, Michelle “MiMi” Williams of Wheeling , a brother-in-law, Charlie Williams (Linda) of Wheeling, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Lucey of Martins Ferry, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling.

Whenever I saw Jim he always left me with a smile on my face and a little laughter in my heart. I will miss him a lot. I’ll say a prayer for Jim and his family.

So sorry for the loss of a good man and one of my good friends. He was always a happy guy, and always treated everyone with respect. He will certainly be missed.
We were so sorry to hear of Jims passing. We would see him out at the YMCA. He was a nice guy and I remember him when we were all growing up on the island and my brother Rick was a good friend of Jerrys. Our prayers are with you.
