James Russell (Cookie) Milvet, 68, of Wheeling, WV passed away peacefully, Friday April 14, 2017, at Liza’s Place in Wheeling.

Jim was born August 14, 1948, in Wheeling, a son of the late Charles Stanley Milvet, Sr and Mary Louise Charlton Milvet.

He was the owner and president of Wm Cooper Company, a woodworking and cabinet company that has done extensive work throughout the Ohio Valley. Jim graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School and received his BA degree in 1972 from West Liberty State College, now known as West Liberty University.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Cathedral and, later, Corpus Christi Church in Warwood.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Albert Milvet, and a niece, Angela Milvet.

He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Morgan Fehr and her daughter, Brittany Fehr; his brothers, Charles Stanley (Nancy) Milvet, Jr, Robert Walter (Edith) Milvet, and Mark David (Judy) Milvet; a sister, Deborah Milvet (Marty) Schultz; 12 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

Jim will also be sadly missed by his longtime and steadfast friends, Larry Hoskins, Frank Purpura, Bob Christafore, Chick Porch, Joe Chek, and T. Jones.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling with Fr. Bekeh Ukelina Utietiang as celebrant. Interment to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

A funeral luncheon will follow the interment at Wheeling Country Club.
