Josephine “Josie” (Chiazza) Mestrovic, 79, of Triadelphia, WV passed away at home on February 11, 2022.
Josie was born February 20, 1942 in Wheeling, WV., the daughter of the late Joseph “Patsy” and Anna (Viola) Chiazza.
Josie was an amazing wife, mother and Nana as well as an avid Notre Dame and Steelers football fan. She was also a lover of dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Wagner.
Survived by her husband Jerry Mestrovic; her children Jodi (Jeff) Shackelford, Jenn (Josh) McCord and Jolene Mestrovic; her grandchildren Jonathan, Bethani, Bailey and Noah; her brother Pete (Audrey Darlene) Chiazza.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday February 19, 2022 from 11 am until her Memorial Service at 1 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling with Deacon Thom Trunzo officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

I have so many fond memories of your mom and running around in the backyard at cookouts etc. She will be remembered and greatly missed by many I’m sure. Many thoughts and prayers. Please reach out if you need anything.
She was such sweet women and welcome anyone in house make sure you had something eat. She sit listen all us talk about our lives in past in college. I sure will miss her my heart goes out to the family all in my prayers xooxx
My deepest condolences to you Jenn, Jolene and family. Your mother was a joy and there are so many fond childhood memories of sleep overs in your room, the back yard and who can forget nagging your mom to repeat ” shut up I’m watching Dallas” in Italian until she was fed up with us. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know without a doubt your mother was and will always be immensely proud of her girls.
