Judith I. E. Brander Piccoli, 98, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Washington, PA, passed away September 5, 2017 at home with her devoted family at her side.
Judith was born January 16, 1919 in Wallace, MI, daughter of the late Nels and Ellen Brander.
She attended the Swedish Covenant Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL, where she later worked.
During WWII, she was a Registered Nurse in the Army with the rank of Lieutenant. During her service, she met John D. Piccoli, who was a Staff Sergeant in the Army. On June 25, 1949, they were married.
Judith has been a Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 40 years. She loved going to the Kingdom Hall for the meetings and to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Assemblies and Conventions, going out in service and talking to people about Jehovah and his Kingdom at every opportunity.
She was loving, kind and generous. She had a cute sense of humor, and enjoyed traveling with her husband and being with her family.
Judith is survived by three daughters; Patricia Piccoli of Washington, PA, Karen Nagem of Wheeling, WV and Linda (Harley) Shepperd of Pleasant Plain, OH; two grandchildren; Sheila Lamantia (Jason) Butkus of Maineville, OH and Belinda Shepperd of Miamisburg, OH; and a sister, Doris Freiburger of Floresville, TX.
Judith was preceded in death by her husband, John Piccoli; her siblings, Robert Brander, Elna Sellen, Sylvia Ives and Henry Brander.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and time.
Arrangements by the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV.
As an expression of sympathy, contributions in her memory may be made to the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wheeling, WV.
