Julius Marshall “Shotgun” Wallace Jr., 57, of Wheeling, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Ohio Valley Medical Center.
He was born October 13, 1960 a son of Barbara Ann Wallace and the late Julius Wallace Sr. Shotgun was a member of Emanuel Tabernacle Church in Martins Ferry. Back in the ‘80’s, Shotgun had signed up with the New York Jets for a brief stent. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid football fan and player.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one son, Aarich Wallace and a grandmother, Ether Scott.
Shotgun is survived by his mother, Barbara; eight children, Charise Beckett, Julius Wallace III, Marshall O’Brien, Adrian, Andrae, Brandon, Dominique, and Brooklynn Wallace; four siblings, Jessica Washington, Arletta Wallace, Leanora Wallace, and Michael Wallace; 10 grandchildren; a close cousin, Rosemary Pitts and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 20, at 1pm at Emanuel Tabernacle Church, 401 Broadway Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, with Bishop Eric Richardson officiating. Interment will be held at Stone Church Cemetery.

It’s been so long. I first met Sotgun at WL. I was DL as was him. I had to tackle him on ball drills! He cracked my helmet! I ask coaches what I did wrong? They said nothing! You got run over by Shotgun! And he just flashed that smile, and helped me up. Never been hit so hard! Sorry for the loss.
