Koury Morgan Jones, 46, of Valley Grove, WV, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Wheeling Hospital-WVU Medicine, Wheeling, WV.

Koury was born July 17, 1977 in Glen Dale, WV, a son of Barbara A. (Gallaher) Jones and Partner Ron Garrison of St. Clairsville, OH and Samuel W. Jones of Moundsville, WV. He was the owner of CPR Cell Phone Repair, Wheeling and a member of the Wheeling Masonic Lodge #5. He was also a youth baseball coach; an avid WVU, Steelers and Pirates fan; and an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball and Irish Road Bowling.

He treated everyone he met with respect and compassion and his family and friends were most important to him. He touched so many lives for the better. Koury’s last gift to the world was to be an organ donor, and his gift has saved the life of a family friend.

Koury was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Betty Shively and James R. Gallaher, Sr; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Aurelia Jones; mother-in-law, Carol Fritzman; uncle, James R. Gallaher, Jr. a nephew, Christian Jones; and a very special aunt, Aileen Beery. In addition to his parents, Koury is survived by his wife of 10 years, Kathy (Fritzman) Jones; twin children, Kouper and Kamryn Jones, brother, Samuel (Jordan) Jones, Jr. of Toledo, OH; twin brother, Kyle (Jenny) Jones of St. Clairsville, OH; sister, Lisa (Scott) Gilrane of Fort Pierce, FL; father-in-law, William Fritzman of Moundsville; brother-in-law, William Fritzman, Jr. of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews with whom he shared very special bonds.

Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, Tuesday, August 1, from 1-3 & 5-8 pm, and Wednesday, August 2, from 11 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

I am sorry I missed the service. Koury was a great guy. Although I did not know him that long it felt like we were friends for a long time. I am sure many others felt the same way.

“The roll of the workmen has been called, and one Master Mason has not answered to his name. He has laid down the working tools of the Craft and with them he has left that mortal part for which he no longer has use. His labors here below have taught him to divest his heart and conscience of the vices and superfluities of life. Strengthened in his labors here by faith in God, and confident of expectation of immortality, he has sought admission to the Celestial Lodge above.”

I am absolutely heartbroken. Koury and I have we worked in the same plaza & talked every morning for the last 15 years to start our day. We laughed, we complained, and shot the breeze until one of us got a customer. He was so kind, always willing to help all his Non-Technical friends out and always willing to listen. I will miss him dearly. Kat & Kids, may God Bless you.
