Leah, Angela and Dolores at Peterson

Dolores L. (Lewandowski) Trabert, 96, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling.

Dolores was born November 11, 1921, in Milwaukee, Wisc., a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Tillie (Kowalski) Lewandowski. She was a retired dietary aide for Ohio Valley Medical Center; and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers Ladies Guild at St. Alphonsus; and the A.A.R.P.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Trabert; a grandson, Mark Trabert; a sister, Marcella LaRue; and two brothers, Joseph and Carl Lewandowski. She is survived by her son, Michael Trabert, Sr.,of Wheeling; three sisters, Angela Howell, Rose Lewandowski and Leah Reinhardt, all of Wheeling; three grandsons, Michael, Jr., Matt and Marty Trabert; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-6 pm, Friday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 5:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Arul Anthony as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Wheeling.
