Lois Ann (McCabe) Custer, 89, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away June 20, 2015, West Virginia Day, at Forest Hills Nursing Home.
She was born December 23, 1925, a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Esther Mae (Harris) McCabe. Lois was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous boards and was a member of the Genevieve Johnson Circle. She was the Admin Assistant to the architect, Tracy R. Stephens, who worked on the WV Independence Hall Project. Lois was also a very active in numerous social groups; she was a lifetime member of Easter Star, the treasurer of the Women’s Club of Wheeling, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a good mother and cared deeply about her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward H. Custer (2012).
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn (Joseph) Kostelecsky, of Wheeling, and Crystal (Leo “Fred”) Olnick, of Beverly, W. Va.; two granddaughters, Shellee Persinger (Young), of Wheeling, and Kyle E. Bryner (Carroll) of Inwood, W. Va.; one great granddaughter, Allyssa Kate Persinger; and good friend of 70 years, Betsy Higgins.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11 am at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
