Lori A. (Poludniak) Kohler, 60, of McMechen, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
She was born on May 25, 1961 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Poludniak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Anna Kohler and brother-in-law, Wendel Kohler.

Lori was a woman who was physically challenged by God many times, but she never let pain and illness define her. She loved sports and was willing to try almost any outdoor activity from playing softball and running the Elby’s Distance Race to parasailing, white water rafting, and swimming with dolphins. The sunshine and outdoors would beckon and she would be quick to respond. Lori loved traveling anywhere with family and friends. She could have fun doing almost anything. Lori recently worked part-time at The Gathering Room in McMechen, and there she developed a love for all things rustic and country. Her home and personality reflected this simple, easy style. Lori was truly comfortable in her own skin.

Lori’s husband called her the “love of his life.” She was his best friend, and he, hers. She never ended a phone conversation with him without saying “love you.” They were two branches of one tree.

Lori’s greatest joy was spending time with her three lovely daughters and three beautiful grandchildren. She attended every school and extra-curricular event. She was a wise mother, a patient counselor, and a friend to all of them. She eagerly anticipated her long conversations and visits with them. She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Kohler of McMechen, WV; daughters Anna Kohler and Erin Kohler of Morgantown, WV, and Lauren (Shawn) Danahey of Cameron, WV; grandchildren Oakley and Dallas O’Connell and Ryanne Danahey; one brother, Tim Poludniak; two sisters-in-law Maryann (James) Kozusnik and Andrea Kohler; several nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle, and many cousins.

Friends and family will be received Friday, April 1, 2022, 2-4 and 6-8, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street. Mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, April 2, 2022, 10am at St.Vincent De Paul Church- Wheeling WV with Fr. Dunn officiating.
