Louis J. Thomas, 79, of Wheeling, WV passed away suddenly at home November 11, 2022,

Born July 20, 1943 in Wheeling,WV to the late Thomas J.and Virginia Thomas. Louis was Catholic by faith and an active member of St. Vincent de Paul church. During his life he had many things he took pride in; he was a girls little league softball coach, little league baseball coach, a past treasurer of the Elm Grove Civics, a Meals On Wheels volunteer, a school board member at St. Vincent de Paul Parish school as well as the 7th and 8th grade basketball coach, and a UFCW member.

In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his brother, Jim (Paula) Thomas

Louis is survived and greatly missed by; his wife and angel of 59 years Janet Thomas; Four children,Christine (Michael) Rose, Jodi (Daniel) Michael, Louis (Shelly) Thomas, and Timothy (Melissa) Thomas; Five siblings, Joe (Mary) Thomas, Mary Depto, Teresa (John) Sullivan, Tommy (Heather) Thomas, and Mike (Rachelle) Thomas; 11 grandchildren, Meghan, Kyle, Zach, Thomas, Benjamin, Sarah, Cory, Kaylin, Taylor, Grace, and Abbie; Two great grandchildren; Oaklee and Jax; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Monday, November 14th from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm until time of vigil service at 7:30 at Altmeyer Funeral Home 154 Kruger St. Wheeling, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, November 15th at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Church Wheeling, WV with interment to follow.

I am so sad to see this. I worked with Lou for years at Kroger. Always made everyone laugh. Truly a great guy. Sending my deepest sympathy, Janet and family.

So Sorry to hear of Coach Lou’s passing.
Just found out yesterday.
It did t get any better growing up as neighbors down South Wheeling.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas were the
Best neighbors you could have.
The Whole Thomas Family are Legendary in the Valley.
