Louise C. Reddy, 98, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home, surrounded with love by her family.
She was born February 3, 1917 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late William A. and Louisa Robrecht Stenger.
Louise was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
She loved the outdoors, and enjoyed her flowers and gardening and mowed her lawn until age 94. When visiting, her children knew, with her love of playing cards, they should plan on several games of “500 Rum” during their visit. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, deeply loved, always patient and understanding. Louise had a strong faith and taught her children the rosary, reciting it nightly with them.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh James Reddy in 1986, grandsons, James Ferrell and Brent Miller, four sisters and three brothers.
Louise is survived by her seven children; Patricia Ferrell of St. Clairsville, OH, Hugh, Jack, and Richard (Jeanie) Reddy, Sharon Miller, Christina (Terry) McKee, all of Wheeling and Mary Ann (Jeff) Farr of Keedysville, MD, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation.
Friends and family are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Msgr. Paul Hudock as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family of Louise Reddy wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Liza’s Place and Valley Hospice for their compassionate care during her final months and to make Memorial contributions to Liza’s Place or Valley Hospice.
